Lagos Outreach

INTRODUCTION
The LOVE HOME ORPHANAGE is situated at CMD Road, Magodo, Lagos state. The Orphanage was founded by Nike Adeyemi and was founded in December 2005. They are focused on sheltering children with love and providing great quality of life for each of them, one of which includes ensuring that the children get quality education.

EVENT KICKOFF
Upon the team’s arrival at the Orphanage, they were warmly received in the visiting room where all the children gathered. The group of children consisted of about 30 of them, ranging in age from 3 to 17. Based of the information received, a lot of them are in the university, hence the few ones available. Their organized seating arrangement facilitated the smooth beginning of our event. Interaction with the children commenced with a charming introduction led by a 10-year-old boy. He adeptly introduced each child present, along with their names and ages. He also posed inquiries about our identity, the purpose of our visit, and details about our organization. Following this, he proceeded to ask each of us questions about our names, professions, and hobbies. James Oludiran spoke first, followed by Yusuf Bakare, and then Segun Oreguwa. The confidence and competence displayed by this young host underscored the children's intelligence and upbringing.

ACTIVITIES
After the introductory session, which lasted approximately 30 minutes James engaged the children in light-hearted discussions, creating a playful environment. The discussion revolved around their names, hobbies and future ambitions. Their answers and articulate responses on their future ambitions were so accurate and precise, it revealed a strong sense of direction and determination, especially among the older children. An example was one of them, who said he wanted to become an artist, further interaction pointed out that he had already been engaging in making designs and drawings. Overall, the children were so eloquent and smart. To further make the atmosphere fun-filled and interesting, we asked the children to stand up to dance to music provided by Yusuf. They enthusiastically selected songs and revelled in the joy of dancing together.

CONCLUSION
To conclude the event, team members offered brief words of encouragement to the children on how they can achieve their future ambitions, emphasizing the importance of determination and perseverance in achieving their dreams. Each member of the team took about 2 minutes to speak on the topic. Finally, we had closing prayer which was handled by James before bidding farewell to the children. The event ended with the presentation of the gift brought to the coordinator which took place in the compound followed by a photo session.
